UNESCO World Heritage

The Kvarken Archipelago is Finland’s only Natural World Heritage Site on the UNESCO list. Together with Sweden’s High Coast, this area offers the best place in the world to experience and understand the land uplift phenomenon caused by the last Ice Age. Being so close to the sea shapes both the landscape and the local way of life, offering a truly coastal atmosphere throughout your visit.

Another geological wonder is Meteoria Söderfjärden, a unique visitor center located in Finland’s most beautiful meteorite crater. Here, you’ll find an advanced exhibition telling the long story of at least 520 million years of Söderfjärden.

In Vaasa alone, there are almost 100 restaurants — from casual bistros and lively breweries to fine dining spots that highlight the best of Nordic and international cuisine.

Among the local favorites is Bock’s Corner Brewery, a small independent brewery in a historic ice cellar, where brewing traditions were revived in 2015 after nearly thirty years of silence.
