Seatrade Europe 2025 was a vibrant celebration of innovation, collaboration, and optimism in the cruise industry. With over 3,000 attendees, 250 exhibitors, and 75 cruise line brands from 100 countries, the event truly lived up to its theme: “Future Forward.”
The atmosphere felt more like a family reunion than a trade show—full of meaningful conversations, new connections, and shared visions for the future. And this year, the focus went far beyond itineraries and shore excursions.
Cruise Tourism with Purpose
Throughout the three-day event, the impact of cruise tourism was explored from multiple angles:
- Infrastructure development
- Environmental sustainability
- Community engagement
- Decarbonization initiatives
- And of course, the guest experience
The industry is clearly shifting toward more responsible and inclusive growth, and Finland is proud to be part of that journey.

Cruise lines report a high level of bookings, and onboard spending.

In the context of international tourism, Santa also represents Finland’s cultural identity, hospitality, and its role as a memorable, magical destination—especially with his official home in Rovaniemi, Lapland.
