National Geographic Endurance on an Inaugural Call to Mariehamn

The First Maiden Call of the Season to Mariehamn

The first inaugural call of the season to Marieham was made by the expedition ship National Geographic Endurance today. The ship was launched in July 2021 and is purpose-built for operations in the Arctic and Antarctic regions. NG Endurance is specifically designed for operating polar expeditions, and is one of the most advanced expedition cruise ships in the world. The vessel holds a Polar Code PC5 (Category A) ice-class rating and may operate in areas with up to 2 metres of ice. The ship also carries a fleet of zodiacs and kayaks, as well as sophisticated equipment for diving in the underwater world.
